Dismantling the Glass Ceiling

 Interviews

To celebrate International Women's Day 2002,  a number of women were invited to take part in the Australian virtual Centre for Leadership for Women's IWD online Program, 'Dismantling the Glass Ceiling' by responding  to the following five questions:

1. Do you think that there is an invisible barrier preventing women from reaching the highest level in your profession regardless of their accomplishments and merits?

2. If yes, why do you think this exists in your profession?

3. Is this barrier in your profession penetrable? How can the barrier be dismantled in your profession?

4. Do you consider yourself to have broken through the Glass ceiling in your profession? If yes, how have you done this?

5. In general, what do you see as the underlying cause that must be addressed to shatter the glass ceiling in corporate and public Australia?

Below are links to each of the interviewee's responses. I would like to thank each of them for their willingness to candidly share their experiences and offer their perspective of the Glass Ceiling barrier as it relates to themselves, their sector and broader Australia.
