INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS
Applicants are
asked to provide information on what they have implemented and why, how the
change is sustainable, and evidence to indicate its impact on women in either an
Australian community or in an organisation.
Individuals can
nominate themselves for the Award or be nominated by someone else. The
Application will require the nominee to address the questions in the
application. Nominees and supporting individuals will be interviewed on the
phone by Diann Rodgers-Healey for further assessment of the application during
the course of the judging.
Applications will be open for this Award on 1 September
2011 and will close on 22 November 2011 at 5pm. All applications must be
emailed and posted
to Diann Rodgers-Healey as indicated on the application form. Extensions will
not be granted.
Maximum pages for the entire application (including supporting material) is ten A4 pages. This must include
responses to the questions plus the 2 letters and any other supporting material.
Any material in excess of 10 A4 pages will not be
considered.
ELIGIBILITY
CRITERIA FOR THW SWECO AWARD

Sex: Female or Male

Age: 18 or older
- Nationality: Australian or with Australian permanent resident status
REVIEW CRITERIA
SWECO Applications will
be evaluated by the Judges according to the following criteria:

Leadership:
the applicant should demonstrate their leadership skills
employed in effectively developing, implementing and
evaluating an initiative for achieving and sustaining empowerment of women
in a community or organisation.

Sustainability:
the applicant must describe how the initiative has sustained empowerment for
women within the community or organisation, how it will continue in the
future and expected outcomes.

Impact on women’s empowerment: the
applicant should clearly articulate the specific intended effect on women in
terms of
their economic and social empowerment as well
as the actual impact the initiative has on women.

Capacity:
the applicant should demonstrate their capacity to collaborate with others
to seek and utilise assistance and expertise to develop and implement their
initiative.
- Measurable and/or Non-Measurable results: the applicant should provide either quantitative evidence (eg statistics) to show progress toward the stated goal or qualitative evidence such as the milestones reached toward their stated goals.

the
applicant must:

Address all the questions in the
SWECO
application form.

Maximum length of Application is 10 A4 pages single sided.

Applications
must be typed and in 12pt Times font.

Include a
certified copy of a Birth Certificate or Australian Citizenship Certificate
or Permanent Resident Status Certificate

Email and
post your application which must be received no later than 5pm 24 December
2011.
